Over the decades, MARITECH evolved from a fast growing family business into a world-class spare parts and service provider with operations around the world.
Course & Milestones
1977
Anastasios Sorokas – former Marine Engineer and ME Pielstick specialist – quit his sea life job and founded Sorokas SA in Piraeus, Greece.
1982
Just 5 years after the company’s launch, the company opens its own workshop to cover growing demand for specialized products and modifications.
1990
Sorokas SA opens its first international subsidiary in Mangalia, Romania and becomes the shipyard’s in-house authorized contractor. The company is now officially renamed Sorokas Group SA.
1994
Sorokas Group SA has extended technical expertise and expands operations in Europe, as an one-stop-shop engineering company.
2004
Sorokas Dimitris takes over the company, now officially renamed “Maritech Group”.
Visioning to resolve one of the most frequent critical issues, the business model is re-structured into a specialized concept with a focus on thermal equipment, specifically Plate Heat Exchangers & Fresh Water Distillers.
2007
Maritech establishes a new manufacturing operations centre in Piraeus, Greece to cover the growing demand for spare parts and launches a new 1200 sq.m. warehouse facility.
2008
Having first-hand technical competence. Maritech new workshop offers maintenance services for plate heat exchangers second to none. With a global vision, our flying team of highly specialized engineers is side-by-side with our customers, anytime, anywhere.
2016
Maritech opens a new product development facility for research on new materials and design optimization.
2021
Maritech Global is established in Singapore in the context of optimizing our service level towards our customers in Asia, while establishing warehouse facilities in China.
2022
Oriented towards maximizing our global presence, Maritech expands its reach to Croatia and the Balkans regarding the maritime and offshore industries.
